If a student damages their textbook/if the book is “totaled”: The library has a “Fine Schedule” list available for teachers, describing damages and the corresponding fines (attached below). If a student damages their text book, the teacher should notify the library technician by completing a charge slip (attached below) who will notate their account with the damages. If the book is unusable: the book should be sent to the library so it may be sent to surplus. The student will be charged for the full price of a new book. Books chewed by animals or with water damage are considered unusable. The teacher is will issue the student another textbook, through the Zangle Inventory module. **If a textbook is damaged to the extent that the teacher cannot determine the “unique number” of the book, that student will be charged for total damage…the full price of the book. Textbooks range in price from $25-$160.
